A memory so long is held in my Soul
As I swim where my ancestors did
I smell my mother in this salty water And shed tears for the ones to be bred
They can drink my tears as they swim
And recall me, their mother, too
They can glide with me along my trail To a place where my father shed spawn
And swim to the beach where their mothers laboured
To reef islands where, like me, they were born
