Once Upon A Time
We know that one day we will no longer be
For the Dingo has just come ashore
Across the ocean his journey took him Our fate sealed in the print of his paw
We'll have to travel South my family and I
Away from this deserted place To a colder climate where they feel frost
In the hope that our prints leave no trace
For that wild dog is cunning and runs through the wind
He'll find us I know before long
And again we will flea this one final time
For from the Mainland we all will be gone
The Story Behind The Painting
The Tasmanian Tiger lived at Uluru two thousand years ago. The introduction of the Dingo, which pre-dated the tiger by 8,000 years, sealed the fate of an extraordinary marsupial now extinct because of man's appetite for land ownership.
